Some of the major projects we have successfully funded include:
- The purchase of an MRI scanner for €1.9m for the radiology Department
- The redevelopment of the Renal Unit took place in 2005 at a cost of €1.2m. Temple Street children's University Hospital in conjunction with Beaumont hospital carry out Kidney Transplants on site. The Renal Unit cater for patients when having dialysis (which must occur 3 times per week in order that the child or baby can lead a somewhat normal life) as well as caring for patients post transplant surgery
- €0.5m to purchase a Tandem Mass Spectrometer - this equipment conducts tests on all blood samples collected from new-born babies within 72 hours of birth. It can identify any allergies at an early age and prevent needless suffering for infants. Temple Street CUH complete the analysis of these samples for all new born babies in Ireland
