Red Devil kicks off ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street’!
Devil Denis Irwin shows his support for Temple Street Halloween fundraiserIts that time of year again; the annual Halloween ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street' fundraising campaign is getting into full swing and looks set to be bigger and better than ever! The ever popular ‘Little Devil' key ring will be sold by Temple Street volunteers nationwide, so who better to kick off this year's event than a Red Devil. Former Ireland and Manchester United legend Denis Irwin launched this year's campaign in Temple Street surrounded by his many fans.
The campaign will run from the 24th - 31st October 2007 with key rings being sold at shopping centres, on-street locations and workplaces nationwide. As Temple Street is the TESCO Charity of the Year, you can also buy the ‘Little Devil' key ring at all TESCO stores around the country. As always, transition year students, primary school students, youth groups, girl guides, scouts and volunteers help to make this campaign a huge success by volunteering to sell the key rings on behalf of the hospital. This year you can also support the ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street' campaign by texting ‘TREAT' to 57502, each text costs €2.
Speaking at the launch, seven times Premiership winner, three times FA Cup champion and Champions League medal holder Denis Irwin said, "I am delighted to support this worthy cause and as a former Red Devil myself I suppose its only appropriate! All the money raised from the "Trick or Treat for Temple Street" will go to the hospital and I urge people to buy a Little Devil key ring for only €2 or text "TREAT" to 57502."
Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of the Fundraising Office at Temple Street, said "The ‘Trick or Treat for Temple Street' campaign is hugely important to us. Every year we are overwhelmed by the support we get from our volunteers and we are very grateful for this continued support. If you would like to volunteer to sell key rings for this campaign please contact us at the fundraising office on 01 8784344."
